One of our Rippers!

Marin Ventures is a Community Integration Training program in the Golden Gate Regional Center catchment area. Participants are referred to Marin Ventures through the Department of Developmental Disabilities Regional Center system.

Participants are enrolled in one of four programs according to interests, skills, and needs. All Marin Ventures participants are able to join any activity offered in the program, regardless of the level of support needed. Activities and learning opportunities are matched to Individualized Program Plan goals. New activities and resources are constantly being considered and provided.

The Special Day Program (SDP) is for those individuals with complex care needs and/or are medically fragile. Participants need assistance in all aspects of self-care and rely on our program site for adaptive equipment to meet their needs. There is one staff for every two participants.

The Adult Learning Center (ALC) has one staff for every three participants. In the ALC, participants have some independence in self-care. Participants have the option of many activities at community locations, but may require the support of the program site for some activities.

The Wise Elders (WE) has one staff for every three participants, or one staff for every two participants. In WE, participants have some independence in self-care, but may be experiencing the effects of aging and requiring more care. Participants have the option of many activities at community locations, and may require the support of the program site for some activities. The WE program goes at its own pace, to meet the needs of its participants.

Accessing Community Experiences (ACE) has one staff for every three participants. Participants in ACE have independence in most aspects of self-care and spend most of the program day at community locations for training and recreation.

Individualized Day Programs (IDP) are developed for participants whose needs are best met by one staff for each individual due to complex care or positive behavioral support needs.
